I might have a think for Heffy Doodle puppies... My last Heffy Doodle card also featured adorable dogs, but these little brown poodles make me so happy! I love this set for making Valentine's Day cards but really it's a perfect stamp set for any time of year when you just want to make a thinking of you kind of card. I wanted to fit my puppy and mailbox on top of the sentiement, so I decided to go big with a slimline card.
The background cardstock is from a slimline red paper pad and I layered it onto a card base that measures 3.5 x 8.5" when folded. Next, I die cut a white background using the scalloped rectangle from the Slimline Pull Tab die set. I splattered lots of gold waercolor all over the background to make it less... well, white. All of my images are stamped with alcohol marker friendly ink and paper, then colored in with Ohuhu Art Markers.
For the sentiment, I stamped "sending" from the same Yappy Mail stamp set and embossed in white emobssing powder on Oreo Crunch colored cardstock. I love that it has its own die, so that's why I picked it. The "warm hugs" shadow was also cut from the same cardstock, but I did some distressing for the words before cutting them out. I created an ombre look using Worn Lipstick, Festive Berries and Lumberjack Plaid Distress Inks, splattered on more gold watercolor and then die cut it out.
I glued the two sentiment layers together and then assembled all of my images onto the card base using foam adhesive. Before finishing it up, I grabbed a glittery blue Pops of Color and added a little more blue to the card to match my mailbox. I hope you love this card as much as I do as I am trying to finish up a few more Valentines before getting them in the mail!
