One of my favorite cartoon movies is this fandom... I know all the words and I just love the "damsel in distress" character. When I saw The Sassy Club released a big stamp set called hero with some of my favorite characters, I just had to get it! I started with stamping a lot of the images with The Sassy Club's Onyx Black ink pad and colored them in with my Ohuhu Art Markers. I decided to fussy cut out all of the images out and paired up my characters to make three cards.
For my first card, I have this iconic duo! I noticed that the blue and purple patterned paper in the Stone Age paper pad were the same design, so I did my best to line up my diagonal background die so I could use both papers to be my background and the details would line up. Using nested arch dies, I die cut some gold and white cardstock.
I embossed my sentiment in gold and added some Lost Shadow Distress Oxide on the top of the white arch. Before gluing the two arches together, I splattered on some gold watercolor and then popped up the arches to the center of the card. My characters are also popped up and I added some Champagne Glitter Pops of Color around the card and I think this card is just perfect.
My second card is probably my favorite of the bunch as I'm so happy with how my ink blending turned out! I started with blending with Distress Oxides on two different sheets of white cardstock. My sky is made of Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch and die cut with a sunburst background die. The clouds are Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold, Saltwater Taffy and Dusty Concord that are then die cut with a puffy cloud background die.
I glued my sky directly to my card base and then popped up my puffy clouds. I splattered on some white gold watercolor and while that dried, I stamped my lighting bolt and sentiment with gold embossing powder and used the same gold cardstock to back my sentiment. I popped up my sentiment, character and the top of my lighting bolt to the card; the end of the bolt was tucked inside one of the clouds and used some liquid glue to make it sure it stayed in place. Just like the first card, I added a few Pops of Color for more shine.
The final card has a glitter cardstock background with a green geometric patterned paper adhered to the center, both on a card base. I stamped my sentiment towards the top of the green patterned paper and I used die cut letters to make "hero" in the same gold cardstock. I did glue two additional letters under each gold letter in white cardstock to give it dimension.
I wanted to create the white flower that my stud gives our heroine, so I found a flower die cut and added it to the bottom of the card. My two characters are layered on with foam adhesive and added a few Pops of Color to finish it off. I hope you like all the cards and let me know which one is your favorite in the comments!
