I'm having some fun with the adorable flying fandom bee from The Sassy Club for today's card! My layout is inspired from last Friday's episode of Craft Roulette and this month's Show Us Your SheetLoad sketch. I started with stenciling my background of yellow cardstock with the Lawn Fawn Honeycomb Stencil with Wild Honey Distress Ink (I've got a whole product theme going on I guess). I also splattered on some Mica Stain to give it some splatter and shine!
I followed the sketch for making the rest of the card, but I did make a couple changes. I stamped the circular cereal with Wild Honey Distress Ink on the sentiment panel and inked up the edges as well as the edges of my patterned paper. I decided to have my bee flying across this panel and stamped my sentiment to the right. I also forgot to adhere my black cardstock panel before adding my stripped panels so I did have to adjust the layout just a bit and trim the left stripped panel more than the original sketch said to do.
My character is popped up with foam adhesive and I added some Black Gloss Pops of Color to bring in more black into the card. To meet the parameters of Craft Roulette: this card is for Abigail to take to her teacher; the colors were inspired by a yellow, orange and black tartan pattern I found on Google Images; my bee represents a spring scene; and my stripped panel looks like it wraps around my card panel as it looks continuous!
