There's a new set from Stampers Anonymous with Tim Holtz called Mr. Rabbit and it's a great set for the upcoming Easter holiday! I was gifted this set from Scrapbook.com and I decided to try and get a little out of my comfort zone with mixed media. My card is just one layer, but I brought in lots of Distress products to give it lots of dimension and color.
I started with ink squishing with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Oxides and added Tea Dye around all the edges to cover any of the watercolor cardstock parts without ink. Then I stamped the plaid stamp with Vintage Photo after spraying it water before stamping. I used the polka dots with embossing ink and Embossing Glazes in Candied Apple and Chipped Sapphire.
Next I added more Distress Oxides in random spots around the panel with Blueprint Sketch, Tumbled Glass and Candied apple. I then embossed Mr. Rabbit with Vintage Photo Embossing Glaze and colored in his bowtie and jacket with Candied Apple and Chipped Sapphire Watercolor Pencils. I took the last two stamps from the set and stamped the "5 Egg Dyes" with Tea Dye Distress Oxide and "Easter Egg Dies" with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide randomly around the panel.
To add a sentiment, I used "thinking of you" from the Scrapbook.com Just a Note stamp set in Versafine Clair to finish off the card (and have this card meet Friday's episode of Craft Roulette). I hope you enjoyed this card that is a little different than my style! I had fun pushing myself out of my normal boundaries. Shop the new stamp set at Scrapbook.com here!
