When Tim Holtz announced that he was done with Distress Colors, I was wondering what would be the next big thing with the Distress line! I'm a huge fan of his Mica Sprays so I am SO EXCITED that Ranger Ink will be releasing the colors in a Distress Spritz sprays! A BIG thank you to Scrapbook.com for sending me three of the new Distress Spritzes in the perfect Halloween colors - Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Wilted Violet.

I made two Halloween cards and I went with simple cards as I really wanted the shimmer of the Distress Spritzes to shine on these cards. I started with making a spider web background using the Slimline Spider Web stamp with white embossing powder and added all three colors to the white mixed media cardstock. When it was dry, I blended on a little Wilted Violet Distress Oxide to the edges and added it to a sheet of Spooky patterned paper.
My sentiment and images are from Spooky and Trick or Treat stamp sets. I embossed my sentiment on black mixed media cardstock and stamped the ghosts on white, after I used the new coordinating dies to cut them out. I colored in my ghosts with Glitter Brush Markers in clear and royal purple. I did splatter a little Black Lustre before popping up my die cuts and then some Pops of Color in black gloss.

My second card is a little more simple, but mostly because I could not hide any of that gorgeous shine of Spiced Marmalade and Wilted Violet on the black mixed media cardstock! I let the Spritzes dry and trimmed down the black cardstock to fit on my 4x5-1/4" patterned background. I embossed my sentiment and pumpkins in white and colored in my pumpkins with the Spiced Marmalade with a paint brush.
The pumpkins were adhered to peek out behind the sentiment that is popped up with foam adhesive. I cannot wait to see how everyone uses these new products! I have more ideas, and cannot wait to create more - they might just pop up again for my monthly Halloween video... :)
