I was recently gifted a few items from Waffle Flower Crafts with their recent release of the Grip Mat Version 2 in different sizes! I've been using the new mat for a bit now, and wanted to give a review along with a project using the mat and their gifted products. It's safe to say, I still love the Grip Mats so much. They're the perfect grip to keep your paper in place while stenciling, ink blending or using pastes, but the paper peels off without any tearing! I'd have to say these mats are probably the most used tools in my craft room.
To make my card today, I started with stenciling my butterfly background with different color Pinkfresh Studio inks that matched the patterned paper I wanted to use for the card. Using blending brushes, I made a rainbow and then swiped on a little bit of Astro Paste. I wanted just a little peek of shine - but not the whole background.
While the background was drying, I die cut my sentiment, circle and flowers from patterned paper and assembled the wreath and sentiment together. I trimmed my background panel to 4" wide and adhered it to a card base once it was dry. My wreath is adhered to the card with 1mm foam and my sentiment is adhered with 2mm foam. I added a few of the enamel dots in clear and white around the card for some final touches.
I'm so honored that I was gifted these mats because I use them until they're stained (which honestly didn't even affect the original version) and I'm so excited to have this new version in the perfect stenciling sizes for my projects! Let me know if you have a Waffle Flower Grip Mat and if you love it, too.
