Hi! 90's Inspired Pocket Dolls Card with The Sassy Club

Tuesday, July 2, 2024

When I saw that this week's Craft Roulette parameters included "dolly" and "pocket," my mind knew exactly what stamps I needed to grab! I'm using the Lolly the Dolly and Star House stamp sets from The Sassy Club for this week's submission. They're perfect, right?! I started with picking my colors - I used my Color Cubes and started with #379 and it's definitely giving a Dunkin' Donuts + Baskin Robbins combo. I stamped my images with my Sassy Onyx Black ink pad and color them in with Copic, Ohuhu and olo markers.

After coloring, I fussy cut out the image and started on my background. I used some mixed media cardstock that was trimmed to 4x5.25" and I embossed the bow and star images from the Lolly the Dolly set with white embossing powder. Next I used a mix of different Distress Oxides that I matched my color scheme and blended and squished on ink. For some shine, I did a few sprays of Picked Raspberry Distress Spritz.

When my background was dry, I adhered it to my card base and popped up the images with foam adhesive as well as stamping a simple sentiment to the card where I found some space in the background in black ink. I hope this card brings some joy to you today and makes your nineties girlie heart happy like mine!
