One of my favorite things about card making is the way it allows me to bring little scenes to life on paper. This week, I found myself inspired by a rustic countryside theme, and I couldn’t wait to use the Farmland background stamp from Hello Bluebird and the adorable Rooster stamp set from The Sassy Club. With my trusty Blackout Ink from InkOn3, Olo markers, and Onyx Black Versafine ink pad, I set out to create a charming farmyard card. To start, I stamped the Farmland background with Blackout Ink and brought the scene to life by coloring it with my Olo markers. The rich, vibrant hues made the rolling fields and barn pop beautifully. After trimming the background down to 4” x 5-1/4”, I glued it onto the center of an A2 card base. Next, I turned to the stars of the show—the rooster and other cute, cranky bird from the stamp set. After stamping and coloring them in, I carefully fussy cut each piece, along with the sentiment, which I stamped in Onyx Black. Finally, I used foam adhesive to arrange the elements on the card, giving the scene dimension and a playful touch. I love how the finished card turned out; it’s a perfect slice of country charm!
