Floating By with Simon Hurley + Ranger Ink's New Release

I had so much fun creating this out-of-this-world card using the Simon Hurley create. Space Friends and Planetary stamp sets! I started by trimming a piece of navy cardstock to 4x5-¼” and stenciling the largest design from the In Bloom stencil with Silver Lining Astro Paste. This added a beautiful, shimmery texture to the background. For the starry panel, I heat embossed the stars from the Planetary set in silver on a piece of Stark White Cardstock, then blended Midnight Snack ink over the top, spritzing it lightly with water for a dreamy galaxy effect. I mounted this panel onto a slightly larger piece of blue cardstock before adhering it to my navy background with foam adhesive for added dimension.

Next, I stamped the adorable cats, stars, and planet from the Space Friends set in Black Soot Archival Ink and watercolored them using Simon Hurley dye inks. The coordinating dies made cutting them out a breeze! I also stamped the sentiment in Midnight Snack ink and fussy cut it to create a fun, playful look. To bring the design together, I arranged the elements on the card, popping up the cats, planet, and sentiment with foam adhesive for extra depth. A few stars adhered with liquid glue completed the scene, making this card perfect for any space lover. I love how the mix of textures, layers, and colors came together—definitely a card that’s out of this world!
